Shōdō Harada Roshi, founder of Seattle One Drop Zendo, dedicated the group’s new Seattle center May 15.

Here’s a poem that was written for and offered as part of the ceremony:

Moon in the water of all lakes and rivers
the place of Zen practice
When Buddha-mind is fully awakened
the ten directions are fragrant
For polishing the self,
nothing compares to sitting

Roshi had earlier named the new center Suigetsu Dojo, translated as Water Moon Dojo.

The center is located in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, and is part of the worldwide One Drop Zen Buddhist Community with strong ties to Tahoma-san Sogenji Monastery on Whidbey Island.

With the center open, members are now working to expand program offerings. These will be described in a subsequent article in Northwest Dharma News.
