Develop and nurture your meditation practice with “The Art of Being Human” this April! Discovering Basic Goodness through the secular path of meditation develops gentleness as well as fearlessness. An important part of the path of Shambhala, is the vision of a sane and compassionate society that could be created in this age, with fearless and gentle people, who are referred to in Shambhala Training, as warriors. We can find warmth that radiates to others, that paves the way to develop a vision of an Enlightened Society.

This intimate urban retreat provides instruction for sitting and walking meditation as a means to develop mindfulness in daily life, as well as teachings, personal interviews, and opportunities for discussion.

Those who have and have not registered for the weekend are invited to attend the Friday night session from 7-9 pm free of charge! Those of you who have not yet registered, you can decide whether or not you want to attend the full program after the talk on Friday evening.

The full weekend continues on Saturday & Sunday, April 29-30, 8:30am – 5:30pm each day, starting with a light breakfast each morning. The program begins at 9am, concluding at 5:30pm with short breaks throughout, and concludes with a celebratory reception on Sunday.

Morgan Root has been a teacher in Shambhala since 2003.  He attended his first Shambhala training program in 1988 in Halifax, N.S. and Kalapa Assembly in 1992.  He has had various roles in Shambhala centers across the country from baker to head of Practice and Study and has taught a variety of Shambhala classes and levels.  He currently works as a math teacher in the Seattle Waldorf High School where he also leads a course in Buddhist practice.  He lives with his wife and two children in Wallingford.

We welcome and look forward to your attendance!
