Invitation to Participate! Portland Buddhist Festival in the Park

This is an invitation for Buddhist groups in the region to participate in a revival of the Buddhist Festival in the Park on June 29, 2024. 

Dharma Rain Zen Center, No Rank Zendo, and Dance Mandal, and other groups are planning for the festival be an opportunity for Buddhist communities from across the region to gather together in fellowship and to share aspects of Buddhism with the larger Portland community. We’d like to have representation from a diversity of sanghas and are hoping you might like to participate.

We have brainstormed a variety of ways sanghas might want to participate and are open to additional ideas. Things we’ve considered include:

• Informational tables for each sangha present
• Panel discussion including leaders from various sanghas exploring together topics such as: “what’s your practice?”, “how does your tradition benefit others?”
• Meditation instruction
• Performance / music
• Facilitated body practice (qigong, yoga, etc)

We are hoping to have food trucks present throughout the day to help attract interest but are also open to your ideas of ways of making the festival fun and inviting.
