TLC Transitional Life Care presents…
The Tibetan Book of the Dead – The Bardo Thodol
A weekend of teachings focused on understanding and reciting this sacred, essential text for the benefit of those in the dying process.
In Tibet, Lama Lakshey Rinpoche trained to understand and recite the ‘Bardo Thodol’ as he guided those in the dying process for ten years before coming to the West. This profound scripture was composed by the great 8th century tantric master, Guru Rinpoche [Padmasambhava]. During this rare TLC event, Rinpoche will offer his knowledge and experience to educate us about providing such support for others. The Tibetan Book of the Dead (Bardo Thodol) is a sacred Tibetan Buddhist terma text designed to guide the deceased through the “bardo,” or intermediate state between death and rebirth. Reading this to those who are dying and/or have recently died helps them navigate the transitional state, and to achieve liberation from existence in samsara.
Lama Lakshey Zangpo Rinpoche was born in eastern Tibet to a nomad family. He was recognized at a young age as a tulku and entered Mardo Tashi Choling monastery at the age of 11. Later, Rinpoche studied at Larung Gar Institute for a decade with H.H. Jigme Phuntsok and he was enthroned by H.H. Katok Getse Rinpoche at his center in Washington state. He has taught in the U.S. and Canada for over 15 years and provides instruction on Buddhist meditation and eastern psychology to dharma practitioners, university students and faculty, medical communities, and tech corporations. Lama Lakshey Rinpoche is the spiritual advisor of Tsinta Mani Choling and teaches in person and online.
