Resting in Awareness: Finding Ground in Uncertain Times
Public Talk: Friday, August 28, 7:00-9:00 pm
Two-Day Retreat: August 29 & 30, 10:00am-5:00pm
A meditation retreat can be spiritual medicine and food for the heart and mind. Being in retreat allows us to cleanse the mind of mental patterns that block us from seeing the pure nature of reality. When we let go of our various ego defenses, it helps our hearts to open.
During these wild times, our hearts can become closed by anger, fear, and disenchantment. Yet there is a way to stay open-hearted and grounded in a higher state of consciousness, serving as an anchor for peace, equanimity, and joy.
Anam Thubten will lead this meditation retreat by offering talks and guidance from the teachings of Tibetan Buddhist masters, such as Dudjom Lingpa. He has authored two commentaries on the revelatory writings of Dudjom Lingpa, which he will draw upon in this retreat, inviting participants to explore the mind’s capacity to experience an awakened heart and mind.
Anam Thubten grew up in Tibet and at an early age began to practice in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay area. He is the founder and spiritual advisor of Dharmata Foundation, teaching widely in the US, Europe, and Asia. Anam Thubten is the author of several books, including Embracing Each Moment, No Self No Problem, and The Magic of Awareness. His most recent books are Voice of the Primordial Buddha and Releasing the Knot of the Mind.
