Blue Cliff Zen Center
Description
Blue Cliff Zen Center is a western hybrid of Japanese Soto and Rinzai Zen. We hold the Soto Zen lineage through Julian Daizan Skinner and the Rinzai Zen lineage through Shinzan Miyamae. Through Shinzan Roshi we teach the Hakuin-Inzan koan curriculum. We are a non-profit, lay Zen center located in the heart of Eugene, OR.
Matt Shinkai Kane is the guiding Zen teacher (roshi). Shinkai lived and trained in Japan for 7 years, holds a Master’s Degree in Mindfulness/East Asian Studies, and has been teaching in the US, Europe, and Asia for 15 years.
