Please join us Dec. 15 for an introduction/ orientation to Awakening to the Delusion of Whiteness, an affinity group being facilitated by Zen Community of Oregon for the ninth year in 2025.

In the current political climate, it feels more important than ever that we work to understand the historic and active underpinnings of white supremacy in America. We know that the brunt of what’s to come will fall on immigrants, people of color, and the LGBTQIA community.

How can those of us who have been racialized as white best support those communities (which are our communities, too)? We can’t resist what we can’t recognize.

Participants in the Awakening affinity group will learn about whiteness, privilege, and racism as well as turn inward to engage in deeply reflective spiritual practice. We explore in this way with an understanding that our own liberation/awakening is intimately bound to one another. 

The course itself will be held monthly on Sundays from January through June, via Zoom. Sessions are 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific time. The Dec. 15 orientation session is required to attend the full course.
