Pacific Northwest Meditation

Description

PNW Meditation is an inclusive meditation community based in Portland, Oregon on the unceded lands of the indigenous peoples including the Confederate tribes of the Grand Ronde, Siletz and many more.

Our vision is to foster a diverse community that supports the practice of all who seek to improve their lives through meditation service and study of the Buddhist path of peace, compassion and wisdom.

Our mission is to cultivate a sense of belonging for new and experienced practitioners from the widest possible range of backgrounds, ages, races, ethnicities, cultures, sexual orientations, gender identities, socioeconomic classes, religions, political views, disabilities, neurodiversities, and beyond.

We aspire to be a contribution to the welfare of our community, our society, and the world by offering a space of belonging and support for all folks and underrepresented communities. We strive to cultivate a beginner’s mind to build a sustainable community that practices deep listening, openness, speaking honestly and acting with ethical intention.

We strive to offer diverse Buddhist teachings. We are a Sangha focused on Buddhist exploration through Dharma study, Meditation, and Community Service. Our roots go to Thich Nhat Hanh, Master Shen Yen, Kamala Masters and Steve Armstrong. We seek and explore the diversity of Buddhist traditions and lineages through our Sangha and guest teachers and seek the broadest diversity of seekers to enrich our shared journey.

Our vision is to foster a diverse community that supports the practice of all who seek to improve their lives through meditation service and study of the Buddhist path of peace, compassion and wisdom.
