Dharma teachers, clergy, and ordained Buddhist practitioners will meet in Seattle October 6 for the Northwest’s 2007 Buddhist Teachers Meeting. Sponsored by the Northwest Dharma Association, the annual meeting provides an opportunity for teachers from all over the region to get to know one another, share their skills and experience, and discuss topics of mutual interest.
The event offers Buddhist teachers of different traditions a rare opportunity to interact as peers. It is intended for teachers only (those who have been authorized to teach and are currently teaching) and is not open to students or the public.
The format and topic of the day’s discussions will be determined by the participants. In the past, popular themes have included teacher training and authorization; different teaching methods and style; financial issues; multi-tradition cooperation; and development of urban and rural centers.
The meeting will take place from 10:00 am to 4:00 p.m. at the Blue Heron Zen Center in North Seattle. To attend, please register at the Northwest Dharma Association website, www.northwestdharma.org. Last minute registrations are welcome!
