There are three primary ways the Association fulfills its mission of networking the regional Buddhist community; through its sponsored events, publications, and website.
For many years www.northwestdharma.org has been a source of information and practice opportunities. Through our directories and calendars, people have found their way to sanghas, retreats, teachers, events, etc. The original site was designed many years ago and has not been updated since.
After months of planning and effort, an entirely re-designed website is about to be launched (in fact, by the time you read this it may already be up and running). The design work has been done by Stephen Schildbach (www.stephenschildbach.com), a wonderful artist, member, and friend. The information architecture and technical development has been provided by Eli Huntington, a multi-talented artist/technician who serves as one of the web gurus at Bastyr University. Both have been ably assisted by our resident webmaster and office manager, David Forsythe.
The new site is a feast for the eyes! Incorporating images from throughout the area, it reflects the beauty and diversity of our region. It is very user-friendly with a great deal of ease for searching throughout the site.
In the months to come we will be adding features to the site, including a Services Directory for Buddhist-friendly businesses.
We hope you’ll visit often and tell your friends about the new site!
