A Heart that Resonates

Can the qualities of friendliness, care, courage, joy and balance create the right conditions for the deepening of wisdom? Or are they simply beautiful expressions of it? Or both? While silently sitting and walking with meditative presence, and with guidance from the teachers, we can open more fully to the life both around us and inside of us. Through the quality of this connection, we can discover for ourselves how living with a sense of fullness and engagement might be possible. This retreat is open to all.

(ONLINE) Four Foundations of Mindfulness: The Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta

What are the four foundations of mindfulness that provide a platform for insight, and ‘clear seeing’? Discover indispensable tools for crafting a powerful meditation practice. In this four-week online course, we take a deep dive to explore the Theravadin tradition of vipassana or insight meditation. We’ll focus on the Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta, or discourse on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, which has been described as the most profound discourse the Buddha ever gave on mental development. This simple yet powerful framework will help you extend your meditation experience to everything from subatomic particles to the vastness of space, and all that’s between. This…

Metta: A Saving Grace in Troubled Times

The practice of metta is a journey to the center of the heart. Whether cultivating metta in daily life or in retreat, metta offers protection from being caught in an adversarial view of life. Likened to a soft rain, it relaxes the painful grip of fear and ill will. As a result, metta engenders greater trust in ourselves and others, increasing our ability to support the greater good that exists in each moment. The Buddha taught metta or lovingkindness as a complimentary practice to Insight Meditation (Vipassana).  Working together, they serve to awaken powerful healing energies that brighten and lift the…

Ignite Your Spiritual Life Online Course

We can easily feel overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Especially in these turbulent times, when it seems nobody is immune from growing levels of fear, depression, and anxiety. If you’re like many people, you may know what will help keep you calm and centered – like a regular meditation practice. Yet, you have a hard time carrying this calm into your daily life. Even with a regular meditation time, then, you may still feel pulled off-center through the day. This is because your energy gets drained away. It’s like you’re trying to cross a desert, and you’re holding your…
