Weekend Retreat w/ Zoketsu Norman Fischer

This non-residential retreat is being held at Bastyr University on Saturday and Sunday, May 16th and 17th, 2020. Attendees may register for Saturday and/or Sunday. There will also be a Dharma Talk by Norman on Friday, May 15th at SIMS. Zoketsu Norman Fischer is a Zen priest and abbot, a husband, father, and a poet, a teacher with wide-ranging interests and passions. Norman retired as abbot of the San Francisco Zen Center in 2000. Mindfulness in Daily Life — cultivating a heart that’s ready for anything.   During this 3-day retreat at the Mt Adams Zen Buddhist Temple and Trout Lake Abbey, we will use the practices of mindfulness meditation (sitting and walking) and loving-kindness to open fully to our lives. Using the breath to stabilize the mind, we then use the mind’s natural state of openness, wakefulness, and acceptance to become intimate with our current state of suffering.
