The Importance of Buddhist Spiritual Art

Our resident artist Lama Migmar will explain how he got started as a painter and sculptor and show us examples of his work. He will describe the history of Thangka painting and Buddhist sculpture, and even talk about the statue of His Holiness Jigdal Dagchen Rinpoche Dorje Chang that graces our Shrine Room.

Lama Migmar will also explain:

  • traditional methods of preparing paints and painting materials
  • the importance of statues and how to prepare them for a shrine
