Develop and nurture your meditation practice with “The Art of Being Human” this December! This series presents the practice of meditation as a way to uncover our innate dignity and wakefulness and to engage fully in the world. Deeply rooted in the Buddhist tradition of mindfulness-awareness practice, yet secular in presentation and accessible to all, the Art of Being Human teaches meditation as a radical path of peace, and the foundation of a sane and caring society.
This intimate urban retreat provides instruction for sitting and walking meditation as a means to develop mindfulness in daily life, as well as teachings, personal interviews, and opportunities for discussion.
Art of Being Human is the first weekend retreat required for taking the full five-part program called “The Heart of Warriorship.” This program is open to everyone and no previous experience with meditation is necessary.
We are delighted to have Paul Belserene, senior teacher from Vancouver, BC, as the Director for this program. Paul taught creative writing at UBC and is a consulting storyteller. He brings intellect and humour to all his teachings.
We welcome and look forward to your attendance!
