Spokane: Ven. Chodron at UU

Sunday, October 29, 2017 @ 9:15 am - 12:00 pm

Sustaining Hope Through Social Action

Ven. Thubten Chodron is the UU Sunday speaker

Two Sunday Services  9:15 & 11:00

“The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference.” Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel knew what he was talking about. But how do we stay engaged and hopeful in challenging times? Venerable Thubten Chodron asserts there is no room for despair in our spiritual practice. She urges us instead to use whatever arises as an opportunity to grow wisdom and compassion.

Come for both services. Ven. Chodron never gives the same talk twice!  Or watch on livestream

The congregation at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane has invited Ven. Chodron as a guest to their pulpit since 2004. The relationship is warm and receptive on both sides. UU also hosts Abbey nuns to teach Buddhist meditation throughout the year.

The UU Church is well known for it openness to all comers.
