Facilitated by Marcia Christen, Certified Trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication
Saturday, November 2
10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This workshop builds on October 26’s Introduction to Nonviolent Communication Part 1. In Part 2, we’ll develop further our understandings of core aspects of NVC (empathy, feelings, needs, and self-awareness for the purpose of building compassionate connection with others). We’ll also introduce additional essential skills: deep listening, speaking authentically, and making observations and requests. We’ll explore ways to bring NVC as a spiritual practice into our sangha life as well as into our individual relationships. Finally, we’ll continue to deepen our understanding of interdependence, compassion and shared power, in order to foster a restorative community at Chobo-Ji. There will be plenty of time for active role-playing to build skill with what we’ve learned.
The general public is welcome to attend, as well as Chobo-Ji folk, so don’t hesitate to invite friends and family. Dana as payment for the workshop in whatever amount you choose will be gratefully received and passed on to Marcia Christen.
