Announcing 28 Days of Sacred Ceremony (One Ceremony Each Day, October 1-28, 2017)
It is with great joy that the Drukpa Mila Center of Salem, Oregon announces the upcoming 28 Buddha of Compassion Fire Ceremonies. This month-long event will complete the aspiration of Venerable Khenpo Karma Namgyel Rinpoche of Bhutan to offer 108 fire ceremonies in the U.S. and Canada. Sharon Sinclair, Larry Hitchcock and Joyce Olson will host these ceremonies at their lovely home and land in Oregon City, Oregon, beginning October 1, 2017. The inspiration for these ceremonies is dedicated to world peace and the spiritual benefit of all beings.
During the fire ceremony, food and herb medicine offerings are given to the fire while Rinpoche chants and recites special prayers. All attendees participate in making offerings to the fire. The fire ceremony purifies obstacles and negativities offering healing to us and our world.
For any important life event, such as birth, graduation, marriage or career, the fire ceremony blesses the participant(s) and brings support. For those going through difficult times or for loved ones who have passed, the fire ceremony offers healing and blessings. Those who attend the ceremony can write out the names of their loved ones which will be offered to the fire at the end of the ceremony. Those who are unable to attend may send in their prayer request to firstname.lastname@example.org .
The fire ceremony is outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Bring a cushion or lawn chair, your water bottle, and an umbrella if necessary. There will be a potluck after each ceremony so please bring a dish to share. The fire ceremony can last up to four hours. Potluck afterwards. Bring a dish to share.
