Three Treasures Sangha of the Pacific Northwest

Description

Three Treasures Sangha of the Pacific Northwest (TTS) is a lay Zen group located in Seattle, Washington and affiliated with the Diamond Sangha, an independent lineage founded by Robert Aitken Rōshi, a dharma heir in the Sanbō Kyōdan (Harada-Yasutani-Yamada) lineage.

Our form is derived from the Japanese tradition, favoring simplicity. While we focus on individual sitting meditation (zazen), we also recite texts (sutras) together. Talks and private interviews with the teachers provide a chance to ask questions and to refine our understanding. Our practice emphasizes experience over concepts, so no beliefs are necessary; it allows us direct experience of underlying reality, so it is not in conflict with other faiths. This practice fosters concentration and clarity of mind, going to the core of all spiritual work.

All aspects of the practice are designed to foster immediate engagement with the boundless totality available to us all. Our practice is both personal and engaged with community and the world in which we live. We warmly invite you to join us.
